第１０８１話 ●良寛さんと遊びたい
●良寛和尚に「“仏”に会いましたか、会いますか」と訊ねると、どのように応えるだろう。そもそも問いを問いとして受け取ってくれるだろうか。それともニコっと微笑むのだろうか。もしかすると、毬を渡たされるかもしれない。まあ、想像がつくのは、大喝でも棒でもなく、今を淡々と生きているからこそ浮かび上がる自然な微笑みが返ってくるということだろう。
■良寛和尚の漢詩
過去己過去 未来尚未来
現在復不住 展転無相依
許多閑名字 意日強自為
莫取旧時見 莫逐新条知
懇々遍参窮 参之復窮之
窮々至無心 始知従前非
■慧智の読み下し
過去の己は過ぎ去り 未来は未だ来らず。
現在はまたとどまらず 展転して相依るなし。
あまたの閑に名字し ひねもす強いて自ら為す。
旧時の見を取る莫れ 新条の知を逐う莫れ。
懇々としてあまねく参窮し 之に参じ復た之を窮める。
窮め窮めて無心に至り 始めて従前の非を知らん。
■慧智の超超訳
過去はすでに過ぎ去り、未来はまだ来ない。
現在はとどまらず、移り変わりの中に頼れるものはない。
多くの言葉を弄して閑を潰し、己を決め付けてはならない。
過去に固執せず、未来に囚われてもならない。
心を込めて広く体験し、さらに究め尽くせ。
究め尽くして無心に至れば、始めて過去の誤りに気付くだろう。
