●歩歩是道場（ほほこれどうじょう）
どんな山中の閑静な処にあっても、心に妄想や邪心があっては、其処は“道場”とは言えない。
『歩歩是道場』とは、正直な心、素直な心で己事究明（己の本性をトコトン知ろうとすること）にあたれば、そこが何処であっても『道場』、即ち修行の場であるという意味です。
つまり、修行の場とは、己の内にあり、環境に求めるものではなく、真摯な態度で暮らす“行住坐臥（日常）”の一挙手一投足、歩みの一歩一歩であり、如何なる入り口も仏道（智恵）の完成への入り口であり道であり、一歩なのです。
さて、調布の勝さん、出家を考える前に、騙されたと思って、服装など何でも宜しいから、雨の日に、少しだけ遠出し、見知らぬ土地をカッパ（レインコート）姿で、何も考えずに涙が自然に出てくるまで歩いてごらん。己の本性を垣間見ることができるよ。先ずは、それから出家得度を考えても良いのではないだろうか。坊主は世捨て人の終着点ではないんだよ。
